Even before the trooper dolls, i was wondering if i could actually build one gundam mecha out of paper. Oh well, stop wondering! Start planning! Dozens of sketches, references and imaginations later, i settled for Mirabel/Viktor's model (from Universe at War: Earth Assault). It is not a true japanese anime style mecha in that sense, but i thought it looked good. So, yep, i decided to build that one. So far, so good. Sketches, schematics, some cutting and pasting and a ton of time units (approx. 3weeks)have produced half a leg...half a leg!? yeah, you've heard it right! but lol it really looks great to me...now im just figuring out how to throw together a knee joint that works, does not look too simple and more importantly, wont break.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my SoB Retributors. Some good pencilwork here, keep it up! Have you ever thought about inking your work? It takes some getting used to, but it looks really good in the end. Just an idea!

well, yeah! but its just that im lazy...ah thats my fault anyway. would a scanner help? i took those drawings using a camera and edited them somewhat.its a lousy technique, but then i dont have a scanner T_T

Scanners are invaluable, and you can probably pick one up for reasonably cheap these days.

I use a fine-tipped Bic GripRoller pen for most of my inking. It's got a good flow and doesn't dry up or jam as much as anything else I've tried. Keep in mind you won't be able to do shading like you would with a pencil, so you might want to practise cross-hatching. Other than that, just experiment and see what you like and don't like!
